Fishing, Fireworks, and Fun!

This summer has been really busy, and it has just begun!  We have been to barbeque's, a family cabin, the zoo, many parks, and even out on a few boats!  Patrick does not seem to have too many fears at this point.  In fact, Matt said he was only one of many children that didn't start crying when the big T-Rex roared at them at the MN Zoo. He has also gotten to be very vocal, and it is so much fun being able to communicate with him on a different level.  As usual, I think his favorite word is "no", but he has many others and is learning more each day!  I am sure he will be speaking in full sentences before we know it!

Patrick's first ride on a boat - He loved it!

Brynn's first time on a boat too!  It was a bit windy.

Patrick was much more interested in the minnows!

Delicious!

Reese liked hers too!

Woke up in the morning to celebrate Brynn's baptism.

Congratulations pretty girl!

Brynn's Grandparents - and Great-Grandma!

For the Fourth of July this year, we headed up to Duluth to spend the weekend with the Perrault family at Patty and Chris's cabin!  We had a great time cruising around the boat and on the jet skis.  One of the highlights was watching Net and Patty take each other out on the tube!  Hilarious!   At night my cousin Matt put on a great fireworks display and Patrick got to do his first sparkler.

Ready to go swimming!

But first we have to relax in our cool chairs Grandma bought us!

Fun on the boat!

Patrick got in about an hour nap while we watched people ski and tube!

Even Wallace thought the boat ride was fun!

Yep, still sleeping!

Daddy couldn't come because he had to work, so Bapa had to show me how to fish!

Getting the hang of it!

Happy Easter!

On Sunday, April 1st, we had plans to go and get pictures taken with the Easter Bunny and have a delicious brunch with Grandma and Bapa Perrault, Auntie Steph, Uncle Elliott and Reese.  Unfortunately, we ended up having to take Patrick into the ER the night before at 1 am because he had been vomiting and his fever spiked to 104.2.  He had many, many tears through all the poking and prodding, and they determined he had come down with Strep.  They gave him a penicillin shot to treat it, but we didn't get to see the Easter bunny this year.

My sick baby trying to get some rest.

He did recover in time to celebrate Easter Sunday, and we had a great day with our families!  In the morning, mommy "hid" my Easter basket on my rocking chair!  I found it pretty easy (hiding places will get more difficult each year), and had fun opening the eggs to find my treats!

First, we visited the Jordan and Perrault families at Grandma Perrault's house, and got to play a super fun scavenger hunt and eat a delicious Easter dinner!

I got to wear my Uncle Elliott's outfit!

Scavenging...found my new book!

BUBBLES!!!

Thanks for helping me find my treat bag, Bapa!

Then, we went to visit the Johnson family at Uncle Chris and Auntie Christy's!  We ate more treats and then went for a walk, in which I got to get my nap time in.

Can I look any cuter, mommy?!

I had a great day, and thank you to those who hosted!  Happy Easter, everyone!

Meet Brynn

We have a new baby in the family!  Emily and Brent welcomed Brynn Adrienne on March 26th!  She was 7 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful!  Congratulations Bavin's!  I look forward to spoiling her a lot!

Matt's Child

A few years before our household consisted of Mommy, Daddy, and Baby, it consisted of Erin, Toddler 1, and Toddler 2.  The toddlers being Matt and Pete.  On countless evenings, these two would come home extra late at night, play music, and do the horse stomp and other various dance moves in our kitchen.

I had a bit of a flashback last night and wanted to share with you.  See any resemblance, Peter?

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas 2011!  What a whirlwind of a month! Maybe because we celebrated Christmas six times.  December really came and went, and, after all that, I am actually OK with it being January right now.  It was a great holiday season....zero snow...but warmer weather than I can ever remember, so that was nice.

Christmas is so much fun with a one year old!  Patrick was really into opening presents this year, and opened not only his presents, but many of other's as well.  Patrick loves anything that he can be pulled in or pushed on, so he was VERY excited to get a sled from Auntie Christy and Uncle Chris.  The only problem is that there is no snow, so it has only been used indoors so far.

Patrick was not a fan of Santa this year.  He met him twice (once at Breakfast with Santa, and once at daycare) and both times he screamed bloody murder.  Maybe next year we can put out cookies and milk for Santa, and he will start to grow on him a little bit.

Oh Gunner, you are squashing Baby Bavin...

"Patrick needs a wipe."....from the mouth of Reese.

Santa Cooooookie.

I love my firetruck!

Where did Patrick go?

Why did you stop pulling me?

That's better.  Thanks, Grandma!

Holy Tuckered Out!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
