Where Does the Time GO?!

Wow, has May been a crazy, busy month!  To start, Matt and I had our first vacation away from Patrick to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for our college friends' wedding.  It was a great time, and we got to catch up with some college friends, but we both missed Patrick a TON!

Joking around in the photo booth....But notice how he is politely holding my drink. :)

Then, the following weekend, was my sister's Bachelorette party, with her wedding day quickly approaching on June 25th!  Here are a few pictures from that night.

During all of this time though, Patrick has really gotten to be such a little ham.  His personality has really started to come out, and while he loves to jabber, laugh, and scream in excitement, I can tell he is a little bashful at times.

Also, he loves to be outside!!  He used to fall asleep immediately on walks, but now he just likes to look around and take it all in!  There are going to be many visits to the park now that Patrick is sitting up really well on his own, and can sit in the baby swings at the park!  I am sure there will be more pictures to come of this!

Grandpa Wayne took this while on a walk

Here is a video that I took over the weekend.  This was taken at about 9:30 at night on Sunday, and this child was way too excited to go to bed, even though he is fighting his first cold!  (I think it was because he was wearing his new, cute dinosaur pajamas)!!

Anyway, June is going to be just as fun, but just as busy with two weddings, and birthday party's and baby showers!  Cannot wait!  It has been such a great start to the summer!

Easter Bunny!

It's Patrick's first year of everything, and I love holidays, so we had to celebrate this one by going to visit the Easter Bunny!  Patrick loved the bunny, of course, but he was just too serious about it to show off a bright smile.  Oh well!  We wish everyone a Happy Easter Sunday!  We look forward to spending it with family!

Happy 1st Birthday, Marshall!!

On April 9th, Patrick got to go to his cousin Marshall's 1st birthday party, and boy, did he score big!  Patrick was spoiled with his own adorable T-shirt made just for him with his name on it, and the cutest farmer hanker chief!  He also got a fun milk pail full of goodies, including a cow print balloon, giant sucker, a coloring book, crayons, four toy trucks and cars, and a chocolate covered pretzel (which Patrick politely shared with his mama).  You would've thought it was Patrick's birthday!  Although the birthday boy was a little under the weather and teething, he still seemed to have a lot of fun surrounded by his family and friends!  The best part was trying to get all the kiddos together for a group pic!  So funny!

That boy did such a great job holding Patrick...and I still don't know who he was!

Happy Birthday, Marshall!!  So glad we could make it down to celebrate with you!

It's Twins Season

I hate to really even write about it because of the sad display that we have seen so far this year by the Twin's, but it was a good reason to get together on Friday with Chris and Christy and Brad and ring in the Twin's season.  Chris and Christy thought they'd do it right, by making ball park hot dogs, brats, and homemade pretzels and cheese!  The food and beer were good, but the game was not.  Matt decided that he would play games on Brad's cell phone, instead of watching the game, and Chris started channel surfing after about two innings, while Christy and I just played with Patrick and the dogs.

Pathetic!

Raymond F. Perrault

This was a sad week for the Perrault family.  We gathered together this weekend to say goodbye to and celebrate the life of my Grandfather, Ray.  To me, he was Bapa.  Bapa always had a way of making anyone laugh and smile.  You always braced yourself when you walked by or sat next to him, because you knew you were going to get your knee grabbed, tickled, your ponytail tugged on, your head pat, or spooked by what I can only describe as his Daffy Duck voice.  He taught me how to play cribbage, but for some reason I could never beat him, so I think he left out the "How to win" part on purpose.  I cherish the memories that I have camping, fishing, swimming at the lake, and losing at cribbage.

Bapa, you will be dearly missed, and I am going to miss hearing you say, "My pretty, pretty girl".  I am fortunate that Patrick had the opportunity to meet you!  I love you very much!

Four Months Already!!

I cannot believe our little guy is already four months old.  The time has gone by very fast, and during that time he has gone from a tiny 6 lbs. 11 oz. peanut, to 14 lbs. 10 oz. and 25 3/4 inches long.  The doctor said that he was doing very well.  He even showed off, by rolling over on the examining table for her to see!

Waiting for the Doctor!
 Showing off his Daddy's smirk...

She also said that at four months we can start feeding him some rice cereal, and giving some pear and prune juice once a day!  Here's some pictures of how well that went.

Umm, what is that?
Well, I guess I could try it.
Are you kidding me right now?
 Maybe it's not SO bad.
 This stuff is really messy!
 All smiles!
Please don't make me take one more bite!
 I said I didn't want any more!

So, I guess it went as good as expected the first time around.  We are not so sure he even swallowed any of it, but we will keep on practicing!  He liked the pear juice MUCH better!

Spring is HERE!

Spring is finally here!  Well, sort of....we celebrated one of the nicer days this year (about 45 degrees) by taking a nice walk outside to the park with Rylee.  We are all getting a little cabin fever and cannot wait to get outside for a daily walk!  Especially since we discovered it is the newest way to get Patrick to go from screeming to sleeping in an instant!

He's saying, "Mommy, I don't like this!"
"Mommy, I really don't like this!!"
After the walk -  "Zzzzzzzzzzz..."

Now, if it would just stay warm outside!

Also, you all know we struggled with Patrick's sleeping habits for awhile there, and are happy to finally report that he no longer needs to sleep in his carseat.  I actually have woken up to him a couple days in a row just laying in there, cooing and gabbering up a storm to himself, and anyone who would listen!

Sound asleep!

This is how he woke up one morning...let's just say we don't use the positioner anymore.

He's almost getting to the point where he'll sleep through the night, but right now, mommy doesn't mind getting up to snuggle and feed only one time during the night.  We're just glad it's not every two-three hours any more.
